FAREWELL, PANTELIS
FAREWELL, PANTELIS
Pantelis – a journalist “who served the interests of his native country for over three decades in the heart of Europe, Brussels.”
This sentence from Prime Minister George Papandreou’s statement after Pantelis Pantelis’ death is a good description of both the man and his work.
Condolences were also expressed by the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister & Government Spokesman George Petalotis, as well as spokeswoman of the European Commission, Pia Arenkilde, also expressed her condolences.
Born on the island of Euboea, Pantelis Pantelis had worked for well-known newspapers, magazines and radio stations, before assuming the post of correspondent in Brussels for the Athens News Agency and “Eleftherotypia” newspaper, since the mid-1970s. His column ‘A taste of Brussels’ carried back home lively images from the Belgian capital.
